Lori is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor who works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, difficulties managing stress, grief and loss, identity exploration, and life transitions. Lori, originally from Ohio, attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She received her Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University and has been practicing mental health therapy in the Charlotte, North Carolina area for ten years. Lori has worked in community mental health settings as well as college counseling centers; these various work environments have allowed her to connect with a diverse population of clients and a wide range of presenting clinical issues.
Lori practices primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy orientation and heavily relies on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques in her work. Her guiding perspective as a clinician is that all clients are unique, and as such, feels comfortable tailoring her approach to suit the needs of each individual. She endorses the view that people are the experts on themselves and her role is to assist clients with discovering what is most helpful for them. Lori believes that empathy, compassion, and trust are the cornerstones of a successful counseling relationship and strives to prioritize these qualities in her work with clients.
Outside of work, Lori does her best to keep up with her two rambunctious children, loves to travel with her husband, and unplugs by sneaking in as much time as possible with whatever book she happens to be reading at the moment.
Lori is located in our Denver office.
