Lisa is the owner and founder of Carolina Counseling and Consulting Services. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and Nationally Board Certified Counselor specializing in individual therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, and trauma. She has specialized training in the treatment of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is National Certified in this advanced form of therapy. EMDR can help people suffering from past trauma to include domestic violence, childhood abuse, wartime experiences, and the struggles of being a first responder.
Lisa formerly enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing. These life experiences, rich in diversity, make it possible for her to connect with people from all backgrounds, races, and cultures. She enjoys getting to know people and considers it a high honor to join them on their path to healing.
Lisa is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her eclectic therapeutic approach provides support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with individuals age 18-108 to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth and change they are committed to accomplishing.
In addition to being a seasoned therapist, Lisa is a noted speaker at local and national events. She teaches continuing education classes for the counseling community on the topic of trauma. She is honored to serve on the Executive Board of Directors for Stable Resources, a non-profit counseling organization that focuses on serving clergy and missionaries in the United States and abroad. She is a 3 year member of the Planning Committee for the Black Mental Health Symposium and has passion for engaging in training and awareness on the topic of multicultural counseling. She also volunteers as a mentor for the National Board of Certified Counseling Foundation Fellowship program. Lisa and her therapy dog, Jenny, are a team that visit hospitals, hospice, and local elderly day treatment programs.
In her downtime, Lisa walks with her husband and two dogs and spends time with her family. She also enjoys singing, kayaking, and traveling to far away places to experience new cultures.
