Naiyana is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She enjoys working with children and adolescents (5-18) struggling with adjustment disorders, ADHD, Autism, developmental changes, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and family conflict. She also works with young adults (18+) dealing with transitional life changes, identity exploration, and various mental health concerns. She believes in empowering clients to take control over the things they can and to accept the things they cannot. She and her clients work together to establish healthy coping skills for challenging situations. She collaborates with parents to help identify the child’s strengths and to create a responsive rather than reactive home environment.
Naiyana promotes unconditional positive regard, a safe environment and nonjudgmental active listening to foster the therapeutic relationship. She provides play therapy to allow younger clients to express themselves using play as their language. As a former school counselor, she has experience supporting school age students with organization, building resiliency, and executive functioning skills.
She is authentic with her clients and creates a welcoming environment for all people. She strives to provide nonjudgemental feedback to help support her clients reach their goals. It is very important to Naiyana for her clients to feel seen and heard. She also collaborate with caregivers to help create lasting change and growth within the home.
