Brooke is currently working on her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at UNC Charlotte. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2021, preceded by her BA in Psychology from Salem College. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in North Carolina. She has experience working with clients on a wide range of issues including anxiety, ADHD, depression, interpersonal problems, self- worth concerns, motivation, self-harm, academic achievement, drug and alcohol concerns, grief, trauma, and suicidal thinking. She is currently accepting clients 9 and older.
Brooke’s approach to counseling is based upon a Cognitive-Behavioral theoretical approach with a strong focus on humanistic tendencies. She focuses on the whole person, their thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. She believes that each individual possesses the capability of achieving their goals. During sessions, she works to maintain an environment emphasizing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness.
Brooke has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. She provides counseling services in both individual, group, and telehealth settings. She has additional experience working with children and adolescents from a variety of backgrounds through Family-Services Head Start, Piedmont Mediation, and the Cool Kids Campaign. Her special interests include utilizing creative arts and motivational interviewing with clients to process experiences and set achievable goals for the future.
