Bri is the Client Care Coordinator here at Carolina Counseling & Consulting Services, PLLC. She is currently working towards her Master's of Social Work at UNC Charlotte which is preceded by her BA in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill. She is completing her social work internship here at the practice, alongside her current role, with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
In her role as an intern, Bri works with adults and teens as young as 13 to address a multitude of concerns including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, codependency, relationship concerns, family conflict, LGBTQ+ concerns, identity exploration, self-esteem, life transitions and more. Bri's counseling approach is based in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. Bri believes in a holistic, person-centered approach that sees each individual as a whole person with the capability to confront negative thinking patterns and make realistic changes. In her work, Bri also uses systems theory to acknowledge each individual's experiences in larger systems, such as family and society, and how these experiences can affect one’s mental health and the therapeutic process. Bri uses unconditional positive regard, empathy, and compassionate accountability to maintain a safe and authentic therapeutic environment.
In her role as a client care coordinator, Bri serves as the first contact for clients via phone, email, referrals and more. She is well-versed in mental health concerns and treatment with expertise in initial needs assessment, appointment scheduling, record keeping, and insurance concerns. She is passionate about getting each person the care they need and aims to prioritize client well-being in every interaction.
Bri has experience volunteering with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and continues to volunteer her time to psychological research. In her day to day, Bri enjoys weight lifting, spending time with friends and family, cuddling with her cats Milo and Simba, and watching reruns of her favorite sitcoms.
