Lisa Creager, M.Ed, LCMHC, NCC

Lisa has worked in private practice with children ages 7 to adults and has also worked as both an elementary school counselor and a middle school counselor. She earned her M.Ed from The University of Georgia in 2001 and earned her LPC credentials in 2003. Lisa has over 16 years of experience in the counseling field.

Her foray into her career in counseling was not a linear path. Upon graduating from her undergraduate program in English and psychology, she entered the corporate world for several years. She also coached high school cheerleading teams, taught aerobics, and completed a 600-hour course in sports massage therapy. She entered graduate school for counseling in 1998. In addition, she has also completed Grounded Yoga training. Lisa believes that all of her life experiences paved the path to becoming a counselor.

Lisa knows that the healing journey can begin once a person is seen, acknowledged, and heard. She will sit with you in the struggle as you wrestle through your growth process. Lisa has a penchance for using creative outlets to assist in the therapeutic process, particularly in the areas of values classification and personal empowerment. She often draws from several therapeutic approaches to facilitate an individual’s counseling process. Lisa believes wholeheartedly that once a person understands his/her values with deep clarity, that a life of purpose can be achieved.

Additionally, Lisa and her husband are the parents of two children who have Childhood Apraxia of Speech. As a result, Lisa has a special interest in helping parents embrace the special needs journey and to see beyond the diagnosis.

Lisa draws from holistic methodologies within her counseling practice and incorporates facets from the mind, body, and spiritual connection. She places emphasis on the relationship of connection within the family and beyond, and the importance beliefs play in our lives.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys reading, practicing yoga, spending time among the trees, and playing with her husband and children.
