Lisa C. Kelley MA, LCMHC, NCC

Lisa is the owner and founder of Carolina Counseling and Consulting Services. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor specializing in individual therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, and emotional eating behaviors. She has specialized training in the treatment of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is working toward National Certification in this advanced form of therapy. EMDR can help people suffering from past trauma to include domestic violence, childhood abuse, wartime experiences, and the struggles of being a first responder.

Lisa formerly enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing. These life experiences, rich in diversity, make it possible for her to connect with people from all backgrounds, races, and cultures. She enjoys getting to know people and considers it a high honor to join them on their path to healing.

Lisa also has experience with the struggles of being overweight. Major life change happens when people experience dramatic weight loss and regain their health. She currently works with bariatric surgery patients both before and after surgery.

Lisa is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

In addition to being an accomplished therapist, Lisa has been a noted speaker at regional bariatric surgical symposiums where she spoke on emotional eating behaviors. Additionally, she teaches continuing education events for the counseling community speaking on the topics of trauma. She is honored to serve on the Executive Board of Directors for Stable Resources, a non-profit counseling organization that focuses on serving clergy and missionaries in the United States and abroad.

In her downtime, Lisa enjoys walking with her husband and two dogs and spending time with her family. She also enjoys kayaking and singing at local and regional events. As exercise is an important part of her life, Lisa enjoys challenging herself with fitness goals and events.
