Justin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and National Certified Counselor. He earned his graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Counseling with a concentration in addictions. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Charlotte Christian College and Theological Seminary in Urban Christian Ministries, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Areas of treatment include anxiety, stress, addiction, depression, grief and loss and life challenges. His treatment approaches are evidence-based and include Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Justin has also completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help couples with pre-marital or marriage counseling.
Justin enjoys listening to his clients needs and assisting them in making new discoveries about themselves. He believes that empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard are the foundation on which to build the therapeutic relationship. Justin understands that each client is unique and is able and willing to walk with them on their journey.
In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He also enjoys planning trips for his family. He practices self-care through music, astronomy, and massage therapy.
