Juliya Whitley, MA, LMFTA

Juliya understands that our lives are like the mountains. We have wonderful peak moments, difficult valley moments, and everything in between. She believes that the whole journey is meaningful and beautiful, however, because even those valleys that seem like they can’t get any deeper can be blessings in disguise. As we look back on the low moments when we are doing well, we often find purpose for the hard times and know that we have grown because of them. So, wherever you are on your journey, Juliya wants to come beside you to help strengthen you for the ups and downs to come.

That being said, Juliya believes that everyone should have an active role in guiding their therapy. She does this by taking the time to make goals with each individual and offer options on how to proceed. She most regularly works out of cognitive behavioral model of therapy but she also practices eclectic counseling by adjusting the style of counseling based on the individual or family’s needs.

She knew early on in life that she had a passion for working with people going through difficult times, especially children and families. As she has gone through her training to become a counselor, her passions have become more broad. She has now had experience working with individuals, couples, and children.

Juliya received her Bachelors in Counseling in May of 2016 and her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in May of 2019. Both were received from Liberty University. She is now a provisionally licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina.

In her free time, Juliya enjoys spending time with her husband and son. They spend time together camping and lounging around house. She also enjoys reading and crafting.
